Keswick Emerging Leaders’ Workshop launched

A unique new workshop to help Christians in their twenties and thirties become more authentic leaders is being launched in Keswick.
The Emerging Leaders’ Workshop is being held, between Monday 5 and Friday 9 October, by Keswick Ministries in partnership with Forge Leadership Consultancy Ltd.
The workshop has been designed specifically around research carried out by Forge Leadership into the development needs of Millennial Leaders and is the first workshop to take this into account.
Simon Barrington, of Forge Leadership Consultancy Ltd, said: “Millennials have told us that they can get access to lots of content online, but they really value face-to-face mentoring that is intentional, focussed and applied to their context. That’s why our Emerging Leaders programme includes lots of mentoring – one on one and in groups.”
The Forge Leadership research also looked at issues including what emerging leaders believe will trip them up in their leadership, which Mr Barrington says, is the “need for approval and fear of failure”.
He said: “In fact identity is a massive issue, so we spend a significant amount of time enabling leaders on the workshop to articulate their authentic voice.”
James Robson, Ministry Director for Keswick Ministries, said: “We know that there are many Christians in their twenties and thirties who are already in senior leadership positions of churches or leaders in the corporate, public sector and voluntary sector or small businesses all over the UK. Unique challenges are arising for this generation of leaders role and so we, in partnership with Forge Leadership, want to equip them and mentor them so they can grow into their full potential as Christian leaders.”
This new workshop in Keswick follows the success of an Influential Leadership Workshop, ran by the two partners, which is now in its third year.
Mr Robson said: “The Influential Leaders programme as it stands is highly rated as a learning programme. The Emerging Leaders course will build on this and be even more individually led, at a slower and more reflective pace, operating at a deeper level and with more emphasis on immersive and interactive activities both in and out the classroom.”
Applications for the five-day course are now open. For more information about the workshop, go to: https://keswickministries.org/event/emerging-leaders-workshop/
