Angus MacLeay
I am married to Sue and we have two grown-up children, Rachel and Jamie, and five grandchildren, Henry, George, Freddie, Phoebe and Rupert.
I started following Christ whilst at Oxford University, where I was studying Law. I qualified as a solicitor and worked in London for a few years before returning to Wycliffe Hall to study for the ordained ministry. I served my curacy at Holy Trinity Platt, Manchester, and then for nine years served as Vicar, Houghton with Kingmoor, on the outskirts of Carlisle. Since 2001, I have been Rector, St Nicholas Sevenoaks. I have served on the General Synod of the Church of England and also in various evangelical groupings in a desire that the denomination would remain faithful to God’s word. We have been coming to Keswick since 1991 and we have many happy memories camping as a family at the Crosthwaite Campsite during the period when we were based in Carlisle. We have been so grateful to be able to access the children’s ministry over the years for our own children and now for our grandchildren.
Having come through various periods of ill health over the years, one of my favourite verses is Romans 8:18 “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”
