What Will I be Doing?

You will be: 

  • warmly welcoming those attending  
  • helping answer a wide variety of questions about the programme and venues 
  • answering the phone and passing on messages 
  • taking donations and payments for sundry merchandise and tickets 
  • photocopying, laminating and other admin tasks
  • helping with some computer based tasks such as assisting parents with the registration of their children for their groups  
  • joining in with daily team prayers  
  • possibly supporting with other teams as needs arise  
  • assisting with whatever is needed behind the scenes

What Skills and Experience do I Need?

You will need to: 

  • have lots of enthusiasm for teamwork  
  • have excellent communication skills  
  • enjoy talking to people and be good at problem solving quickly 
  • enjoy helping people with their enquiries  
  • have physical strength for running errands as needed 
  • have a good level of spoken English
  • be ready to support other teams if/when a need comes up

When and Where Will I be Working?

  • The day is split into three sessions – morning, afternoon and evening – and you will be allocated two sessions each day, on a rota basis. Morning sessions start at 8.45am, and evening sessions finish around 10pm  
  • You will be based in Reception on site, although you may be sent on errands on occasion by office staff, as required.  
  • You would be expected to arrive in time for a briefing meeting at lunchtime on Saturday and be on duty each day until departure the following Saturday morning.

Requirements

Volunteers are required to: 

  • be aged 18 years or older 
  • be a committed Christian who is regularly attending and active in a local church 
  • be able to complete an online application and provide details of 2 referees – one who must be a leader within your church. Neither can be related to you.  
  • if asked, able to obtain a clear Enhanced DBS check for Keswick Ministries
  • confirm their agreement to and abide with the Keswick Ministries beliefs, values & code of conduct
 

Full-time volunteers will receive:  

  • free accommodation in shared rooms 
  • three meals a day  
  • reimbursement of reasonable travel expenses
