Whether you’re greeting people with a smile, keeping venues safe and tidy, or lending a practical hand outdoors, you’ll be part of a team that helps make Keswick Convention run with warmth, energy and excellence.
Café Team
Bring energy, warmth and a friendly smile to the heart of Base Camp! As part of the Café Team, you’ll help serve hundreds of Conventioners each day with great coffee, good food and cheerful hospitality. It’s a lively, fast-paced role where teamwork, flexibility and enthusiasm make all the difference. Whether you’re already a confident barista or brand new to café work, you’ll be fully trained and supported by experienced staff as you help create a welcoming space for everyone to enjoy.
Key Information:
Location: Café area within Base Camp
Arrival: Saturday (18th July, 25th July or 1st August depending on convention week) , 1pm
Hours: Around 8 hours per day (split over shifts) between 8am and 10pm
Skills Needed: Enthusiasm, teamwork, attention to detail, good communication, energy and flexibility
Training: Full barista and café training provided
Physical Requirements: Standing for long periods and some lifting involved
Campus Team
Be part of the friendly front line that helps the Convention run smoothly! As a Campus Team volunteer, you’ll be one of the first faces people meet when they arrive on site — offering a warm welcome, giving directions, and keeping the campus safe and tidy. It’s an active, outdoor role that suits people who enjoy being on their feet, meeting others, and working together to keep things running well (whatever the weather!).
Key Information:
Location: Around site (outdoors)
Arrival: Saturday 1pm
Hours: Around 8 hours per day, usually over 2 of 3 shifts (8am–2pm, 2–5pm, 6–10:30pm)
Skills Needed: Teamwork, clear communication, energy, patience, good humour and flexibility
Physical Requirements: On your feet for long periods, able to lift or move heavy items
Other Requirements: Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
Reception Team
Join the friendly front desk hub of the Convention! As part of the Reception Team, you’ll be one of the first points of contact for Conventioners, volunteers, speakers and staff – offering advice, answering questions, and helping things run smoothly behind the scenes. It’s a varied, people-focused role that mixes hospitality with admin, ideal for those who enjoy meeting new people and staying calm and organised in a busy environment.
Key Information:
Location: Convention Reception
Arrival: Saturday 11am
Hours: Around 8 hours per day, across 3 main shifts (8:30am–1pm, 1–5:30pm, 6:30–10:30pm)
Skills Needed: Friendly, calm under pressure, and happy to help with a wide range of requests
Tech Skills: Confident using email, tablets and basic computer programs (full training for sales system provided)
Physical Requirements: Able to run small errands when needed
Welcome Team
Be part of the friendly faces that make every Conventioner feel at home! As a Welcome Team volunteer, you’ll help create a warm, safe and organised environment across our venues – greeting attendees, directing people to seats, keeping areas tidy and supporting safety procedures when needed. It’s an energetic, people-centred role that’s perfect for those who enjoy helping others, staying calm under pressure and working as part of a big team.
Key Information:
Location: Various venues across the site and in Keswick
Arrival: Saturday 1pm
Hours & Shifts: Around 8 hours per day (split over shifts), with occasional opportunities to help at special events
Skills Needed: Great communication, calm under pressure, reliability, teamwork, energy and flexibility
Physical Requirements: Able to stand for long periods and move furniture as needed
Other Requirements: Awareness of health and safety (training given); some roles require an Enhanced DBS check through Keswick Ministries
