I am really looking forward to this year’s convention. My wife and I have been going to Keswick for around the last 10 years since 2015 and most recently our nor four year old daughter has been coming too.
We are living in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire in central Scotland.
This year is extra special as Keswick will be celebrating 150 years of the convention and it coincides with our football team Hibernian Football Club from Edinburgh who are 150 years old in August.
We have many happy memories of trips to Keswick where we receive rest and spiritual refreshment.
One memory was when we took our four year old for the first time to Keswick.
Our daughter who was one year old at the time in 2021. It was during Covid restrictions and it was our first holiday as a family together.
Before our daughter was born we went through three miscarriages and our fourth child is our daughter whom we called ‘Faith’ after the verse in Hebrews 11:1 which says, ‘ Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see’.
We also remember it was 2021 in week one of the convention and for a whole year we were not allowed to sing in churches and on the Monday of week one, we took our daughter, Faith to the big tent on the new pencil factory site and we were allowed to sing in the UK for the very first time with face coverings on.
As a family and for the first visit as a family at Keswick singing for the first time after a year was extra special.
It is a memory we will never forget and one which Gd answered prayer and said ‘I Will Never Leave You’ and we celebrated God’s Faithfulness to us.
