When I was a baby, my photograph was taken outside the tent with my grandfather who I would imagine had been around at the beginning of Keswick when they started at St John's Vicarage garden. As teenagers, we went to the young people's meeting and we used to find it not only so enjoyable - the singing and the friendship - but we also benefitted from good Bible teaching and it was such an encouragement.
We visited Keswick for many years - going back to the 70s - and have many wonderful and nostalgic memories of the tent at Skiddaw Street. We might now find it a little different - on YouTube - but we still love the messages - and rejoice that with the passing years, the work must grow and adapt to meet the ways of a new and up-and-coming generation, The message remains All One in Christ Jesus.
Keswick Ministries' priorities are Hearing, Becoming, and Serving. This describes my route to volunteering. I originally came to the Keswick Convention to hear God’s word explained and to learn more about becoming a better Christian. As a result, I wanted to give back to Keswick ministries so applied to volunteer. Amazingly, 15 years later I am still volunteering! Connecting and reconnecting with people each year is great and is very much being part of a large and vibrant community.
