What Will I be Doing?

You will be: 

  • taking customer orders 
  • keeping a clean and tidy working area  
  • making sure café tables and seating are clean and tidy  
  • making sure re-cycling is done  
  • replenishing stock  
  • required to work within food safety standards 
  • handling cash  
  • possibly supporting with other teams as needs arise  
  • assisting with whatever is needed behind the scenes

What Skills and Experience do I Need?

You will need to:  

  • have lots of enthusiasm for teamwork
  • positive, willing & learning attitude – full training will be given
  • have a good sense of hygiene and cleanliness
  • have a good level of spoken English
  • be ready to support other teams if/when a need comes up

When and Where Will I be Working?

  • You will be based in Base Camp.  
  • You would be expected to arrive in time for a briefing meeting in the early afternoon on Saturday, and then be on duty each day until departure the following Saturday morning.  
  • The day is split into three sessions – morning, afternoon and evening – and you will be allocated two sessions each day, on a rota basis. Morning sessions start around 9am, and evening sessions finish around 10.30pm. 

Volunteers are required to: 

  • be aged 18 years or older 
  • be a committed Christian who is regularly attending and active in a local church 
  • be able to complete an online application and provide details of 2 referees – one who must be a leader within your church. Neither can be related to you.  
  • confirm their agreement to and abide with the Keswick Ministries beliefs, values & code of conduct

Full-time volunteers will receive:  

  • free accommodation  
  • three meals a day  
  • reimbursement of reasonable travel expenses
