Preaching Workshop

November 30 2021 - December 2 2021
This is an intensive workshop for church leaders to build on their skills for sharing sermons.

Those who attend the course will receive in-depth personal training, from exegesis right through to a finished engaging sermon.

There will be a particular focus on communication, looking at how sermons are delivered in an engaging way. There will also be an opportunity to present your sermon to the group.

Each delegate should have prepared, in advance, a passage that they are intending to preach. At the end of the week, each will have preached that passage faithfully and in engaging fashion to the other delegates, with no notes. The first part of the workshop will be done via an online meeting before you arrive in Keswick, where there will be detailed feedback and sharpening of exegesis from James Robson (Ministry Director of Keswick Ministries).

When delegates arrive in Keswick they will work closely with Richard Garnett who will give instruction and training in all that is necessary to move from accurate exegesis to an engaging sermon, delivered with no notes. The workshop format will be dynamic, interactive and demanding. It brings out and develops everyone’s gifting, rather than giving a formulaic grid.

“We settle into habits that we don’t realise we have. It is good to unpick those habits so that we can open up God’s Word and ourselves more effectively.” – Matt Lillicrap, Associate Pastor of Eden Baptist Church, Cambridge

Who is it for?

Regular preachers, ideally 3-10 years into ministry, with a willingness to learn and grow.
