Doctrine Study Day

November 26 2020 | 9:30 am - 4:00 pm

Preaching the God-man, defending and delighting in the incarnation

26 November 2020 – save the date!

***Coronavirus update: We are planning to run this event in Keswick and are excited about this, but obviously this will depend on government guidelines.

In partnership with the Pastor’s Academy at London Seminary, Keswick Ministries is hosting a Doctrine Study Day, taught by Garry Williams and Dr Neil Martin.

The doctrine study day will blend exegetical, historical and systematic theology.

It is taught by Garry Williams with input on biblical material from Dr Neil Martin. Neil brings some of the best of recent biblical scholarship that demonstrates an incarnational Christology, and Garry draws insights from the high points of patristic reflection and analytic theology to help us understand more of the coherence and implications of the biblical doctrine. They are very excited to make some of the wonderful insights in this rich literature accessible for pastors. Their desire is that they would honour the Son by speaking, teaching and preaching rightly of Him.

Speakers

Garry Williams
Garry serves as the Director of the Pastor’s Academy at London’s Seminary, which provides theological teaching and support for pastors. He oversees the work of the Academy and teaches on the doctrine study days, the master’s course and the PhD programme. He also supervises pastors who work on doctrinal topics for their study projects. He is Visiting Professor of Historical Theology at Westminster Theological Seminary (Philadelphia) and Adjunct Professor of Historical Theology at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary (Michigan). He serves as an ordained elder at ChristChurch, Harpenden.

Neil Martin

Neil serves as Tutor in Biblical Studies as the Academy, teaching study days in Biblical Studies and Greek and supervising pastors working on study projects with an emphasis on New Testament exegesis. Neil recently completed his doctrinal research on Galatians at the University of Oxford, highlighting the importance of Paul’s regression language for understanding the letter’s underlying situation and its core gospel message.

Who’s it for?

It is intended for pastors with a good level of theological understanding, but it is open to any men or women interested in learning theology for ministry.

Cost and Venue

The cost for the day will be £40 and it will be held at Keswick Ministries, in Keswick.
