Specific Tasks Include

  • Teach children/youth the Bible – following the same passages as the adults  
  • Build relationships with a small group of children and caring for them
  • Get stuck into loads of fun games, crafts and activities that support the Bible teaching
  • Participate in team meetings, times of preparation, prayer and worship
  • Clean up the venues after each session – preparing them for the next session
  • Attend the Kids and Youth training day in May 2025
  • Be ready to support other teams as needs arise
  • Assist with whatever is needed behind the scenes

You Will:

  • Have lots of enthusiasm for teamwork  
  • Have a desire to communicate the gospel appropriately to the respective age group
  • Be interested in encouraging and building up children and young people
  • Be able to draw alongside individuals
  • Be lively and enthusiastic! 
  • Have recent experience of working with children or young people
  • Have a good level of spoken English

Location and Schedule

  • You will be on duty each day during the week. We do try to factor in some rest time each day in the afternoon.
  • You will be expected to arrive in time for a briefing meeting on Saturday afternoon and leave on the following Saturday morning.
  • The Kid’s and Youth groups are in various rooms and halls across the site

Volunteer: Kids Team

Keswick Kids and Youth is a thriving, exciting and growing part of the Keswick Convention. Over the summer we see over 2000 children and young people take part in the various programmes over the three weeks. Our Kids and Youth volunteers are essential to helping us minister well to this groups, sharing the gospel in truth and love.

Each Kids and Youth team is overseen by the Age Group leaders who are supported by the Week Leaders and in turn the Kids and Youth Ministry Leader.

Volunteer Requirements

Volunteers are required to:

  • Be aged 18 years or older
  • Be a committed Christian who is regularly attending and active in a local church
  • Be able to complete an online application and provide details of 2 referees – one who must be a leader within your church. Neither can be related to you.
  • Obtain a clear enhanced DBS check for Keswick Ministries
  • Confirm agreement to and abide with the Keswick Ministries beliefs, values & code of conduct
  • Complete necessary training prior to arrival on site
  • You will be expected to arrive in time for a briefing and training meeting on Saturday afternoon, and then be on duty each day until departure the following Saturday morning

Full-time volunteers will receive:  

  • Free allocated accommodation
  • Three meals a day
  • Reimbursement of reasonable travel expenses
  • Unlimited Tea and Coffee from the Team Lounge
