When I was 6, my family and I moved to rural France. We attended a church, but it was far away so we only went occasionally. It was my mother who read bible stories to me and my brother each night that instilled in me a wonder of the power of God. We had some big cherry trees in our garden which I enjoyed climbing. One evening I remember climbing to the top of one and talking to God and giving my life to him. I find peace in nature, and it is where I connect with God most closely. When I am alone with him in the Lakeland fells, or up a tree, it reminds me of the incredible perspective that God has over our lives.
When I was 14, we moved back to the UK. That summer, my Grandad bought me my first adult Bible at the Keswick Convention. I began to develop a better understanding and appreciation of the sacrifice that Jesus gave for me, and later that year I was baptised. I have been coming to the convention on and off since that summer. Every time I am in that tent, I feel so much joy and hope seeing so many Christians worshipping the Lord together. I am excited to now be working here, and to help keep the convention going for many years to come.
My favorite bible verse is Philippians 4:6-7
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
