Alastair Gordon is an artist who dabbles in writing from time to time. While Constable was celebrated as the “Painter of Light,” Alastair is often remembered as the “Painter of Masking Tape.” He doesn’t mind this at all; in fact, he finds a lot of wonder in everyday moments. When he’s not painting everyday objects, he’s actually quite good at painting landscapes too. You can find his work online and on Instagram—just give him a search. This year, Alastair co-authored a book called Lost Things, which is all about the things we overlook. Before that, he wrote Why Art Matters and Quodlibet. He also runs a charity with friends called Morphē Arts, supporting Christians in the arts. And just to keep things interesting, he teaches painting in Edinburgh, even though he lives in London. Oh, and he’s a Christian—just in case that’s important for a Bible conference.
