Volunteer: Gift Processing Team

What Will I be Doing?

You will be: 

  • working as part of a small team  
  • collecting and counting donations, preparing money and documentation for banking  
  • counting and balancing any other incoming cash funds, for example till, sundry merchandise and tickets  
  • manning ‘gift processing reception’, taking card donations and assisting supporters with giving online (for those with experience of our database in a previous year)  
  • inputting donation information into an electronic database, updating supporter contact details, inc. updating gift aid declarations & filing  
  • assisting the KM Partner Finance Manager and Gift Processing team leader 
  • joining in with daily team prayers  
  • possibly supporting with other teams as needs arise  
  • assisting with whatever is needed behind the scenes  

What Skills and Experience do I Need?

You will need to:  

  • have lots of enthusiasm for teamwork  
  • be willing to serve & learn 
  • have a good eye for detail 
  • have a good level of spoken English
  • be competent in using a computer (Database training will be given) 
  • be ready to support other teams if/when a need comes up.

When and Where Will I be Working?

  • Duty times will vary between morning, afternoon & evening sessions. You will be on shift for 2 out of the 3 shifts. The team leader will endeavour to send out a schedule before arrival – this would be subject to change.  
  • You will be mainly based in the Gift Processing Team office.  
  • You will be expected to arrive in time for a briefing and training session on the Saturday afternoon and will then be on duty each day until leaving the following Saturday lunchtime (the last session will be Saturday morning).

Volunteers are required to: 

  • be aged 18 years or older 
  • be a committed Christian who is regularly attending and active in a local church 
  • be able to complete an online application and provide details of 2 referees – one who must be a leader within your church. Neither can be related to you.  
  • confirm their agreement to and abide with the Keswick Ministries beliefs, values & code of conduct
 

Full-time volunteers will receive:  

  • free accommodation  
  • three meals a day  
  • reimbursement of reasonable travel expenses
