Thank you for being willing to join us in serving on team at the Keswick Convention.
Our volunteers perform many varied and important tasks, requiring punctuality, flexibility, and the ability and confidence to make sensible decisions and cooperate with Team Leaders and other Team members.
To complete this application process, you will need to:
- Be over 18 (20 for youth team) by the event.
- Provide details of 2 referees.
- Attach a digital photograph to your application.
- Be willing to provide a DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check if required. We will help you with this if you don’t already have an appropriate one.
Please be aware that you may need around an hour to complete your application form and it cannot be saved during the process.
Keswick Ministries reserves the right to refuse applications without explanation. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications where a visa is required.
Accommodation, meals & travel expenses:
Accommodation:
If your application is successful, you will not need to book accommodation – you will share accommodation with other members of the volunteer team of the same gender.
Each Convention week runs from Saturday to Friday, with team accommodation being provided on the Friday evening, allowing you to leave on the Saturday morning.
We regret that we are unable to offer accommodation to family members who are not on a volunteer team and we cannot guarantee that married couples who are both on team will be accommodated together, although we will endeavour to do this wherever possible.
Meals:
Whilst at Convention, meals will be provided for you 3 times a day. You will eat with your volunteer team for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Travel expenses:
Reasonable travel expenses from within the UK will be refunded to you after your week on team.
Data Privacy:
We will send a copy of your completed application form to your Church referee for verification purposes, along with your photo for identification.
For all applicants, your completed application form (minus referee details) is shared with the appropriate Team Leaders (Keswick Ministries staff member, or a volunteer team leader appointed by Keswick Ministries) for the purpose of determining suitability. Your Team leader may contact you before the Convention to discuss your role at the event.
We may pass on your name and email address to the property provider of where you will be accommodated, this is so they can contact you with any specific arrival arrangements.
By applying to be a volunteer at the Keswick Convention you are agreeing for us to share your information in this way and to be contacted in relation to the above if appropriate.
Statement of Faith:
Keswick Ministries asks that all team members affirm their belief in Jesus Christ as their Saviour, their Lord and their God. We take your acceptance of the invitation to serve on a team as indicative of your personal commitment to Christ, and your willingness to work within the framework of Keswick Ministries’ purposes, Christian convictions, and team values.
Team members for children’s and youth work will also be asked, by their acceptance, to affirm the statement of belief (a copy is available here).
By applying to be a volunteer at the Keswick Convention you are also confirming that you have read and will abide by our beliefs, values, code of conduct document.
