Sunday Services

All Age Service – Main Tent | Base Camp Relay

10:30-11:30am

How we can be sure | 1 John

Morning Bible Reader: Sam Allberry

Main Tent |  Catch Up | Keswick Methodist Church
11:15am-12:30pm | Monday-Friday

Monday – Because Christ has come: 1 John 1:1-2:2

John has written this letter so that we can know we have life, and shows us in this text that the eternal son has come, been seen and proclaimed to us all so that we can find atonement for our sins.

Tuesday – Because we now walk in the light: 1 John 2:3-27

John introduces us to the “tests” that can help Christians know they have genuine faith — keeping God’s commands, loving his people, and recognising his truth.

Wednesday – Because of how we love: 1 John 2:28-3:24

John zeroes in on what it means for us to “abide” in Jesus, and to live in the light of his future return, by turning from sin and living the new life Christ has given us.

Thursday – Because we have the Spirit: 1 John 4:1-5:5

Part of our assurance comes from being able to recognise the false spirits in the world, and the evidence of the Holy Spirit in our lives, especially in how we can now perceive and understand who Jesus really is.

Friday – Because of what we believe: 1 John 5:6-21

We might think it is good to “have faith” of some sort, but John shows us that it is only genuine faith in Jesus that matters, a faith grounded in authentic truth and which changes our lives.

There is also plenty of time in the afternoons to explore the beautiful surroundings of Keswick and the Lake District.

This event is for mission personnel who work overseas. Welcome! Come and chat, share and pray together with other mission personnel, as well as listen to a short talk. Do this all whilst eating cake and drinking tea! A place where you won’t be asked what were the toilets like? or what was the food like? But rather a place to share honestly about the trials and joys in a room of people who understand the ebbs and flows, highs and lows all too well.

This event is for mission personnel to provide an opportunity to support, chat and connect with others who also serve God around the world.

Families of Mission Personnel Afternoon Tea

This event is for family members of mission partners living overseas.

This is a great opportunity for those whose children, grandchildren, brothers or sisters are living and working overseas to get together and share fellowship, experiences and ideas. There will be some input on how family members can support their loved ones well, but also how they can be supported themselves. There’ll also be plenty of time to chat over tea, coffee and cake! Please register at the convention reception.

This event is for family members of mission partners to provide an opportunity to chat and connect with others who have loved ones serving God around the world.

Creation

Main Bible text – Genesis 1-2

God made the world and He created humans ‘in His image’.  He gave humans instructions on how to live and a job to do.

The Fall

Main Bible text – Genesis 3:1-24

Humans disobeyed God and spoiled His world.  We see and feel the effects of the Fall in our lives and in the world today.

God’s Plan – Jesus

Main Bible text – Luke 2:1-7, John 3:16 and Philippians 2:6-8a

We will be looking at Jesus’ humanity whilst living in a broken world.

God’s Plan – Redemption

Main Bible text – John 3:16, Philippians 8b-9

Jesus died and rose again to save the whole world (not ‘just’ the people, but all of creation).

The New Heaven and the New Earth

Main Bible text – Revelation 21:1-8 and Philippians 2:9b-11

God has promised that He will re-create the earth when Jesus returns.  People from every nation will worship Him.

Afternoon Workshop

PF G.02 | 2:30-4:00pm | Tuesday

In the workshop we will be exploring God’s creation (the environment (plants, trees, etc) and us as people) and how we can look after it (the environment and us as people) well.  We will be doing this in different creative ways, so there should be an activity that everyone will like.

PF G.02 | 9:30-10:30am | Thursday
This seminar is for individuals and churches thinking about responding to adults with learning disabilities. This session will inspire and inform about how mission and ministry for adults with learning disabilities can transform lives and churches.
