28 Jun 2010: Servants of God under the oppression of man: 1 Kings 21

There are always those who think that there is no such thing as right and wrong. If you ever meet one, all you have to do is stomp really hard on their toe, and they will at least believe in wrong. One of the ravages of our fallen world is the matter of injustice, and you have a sample of it in 1 Kings 21. I’m not sure that the text tells us how to live by faith under injustice, but it points us to trust the God of justice. So this will not be three strategies for coping with unfairness in your life, but rather the testimony of the text is essentially that of Luke 18:7,8 and the words of Jesus, ‘And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily.’
