Bible Reading Speaker

Don Carson has been at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. since 1978 and is currently Research Professor of New Testament.  He has served as an assistant pastor and pastor and has been involved in church plants in Canada. He has written fifty books, serves on several boards and, along with Tim Keller, has recently founded The Gospel Coalition which aims to bring Christian leaders together who have a commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ, with a view to reforming the church and transforming the broader culture.


Don and his wife, Joy, reside in Libertyville, Illinois. They have two children. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, hiking, and woodworking.


 

 


Jonathan Stephen was born and raised in Bournemouth. He became a Christian while studying sociology at university in Bangor, North Wales. Before taking up the reins as Principal of WEST (Wales Evangelical School of Theology) in September 2006, he completed nearly 28 years in pastoral ministry, mostly at Carey Baptist Church in Reading. Jonathan has served the wider Church through his preaching ministry and involvement in many Christian projects and agencies. Past President of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches and present Director of Affinity, Jonathan is deeply grateful to God for his wife, Sheila, and their son, Jeremy, both of whom have active Christian ministries of their own. Jonathan is an avid sports fan and, as a member of MCC, takes his guardianship of the laws of cricket very seriously!

 


Hugh Palmer was a student when he became a Christian through the witness of a friend.

His ministry has taken him from Norwich to London and Sheffield before becoming Rector of All Souls Langham Place in 2005. He has served under Keswick speakers like Gordon Bridger, Dick Lucas and Philip Hacking. He currently chairs New Word Alive, and previous responsibilities have included chairing OMF North Region Council and directing the Northern Cornhill Training Course

Hugh met and married Clare while he was in Norfolk. They have three grown up children and Hugh is a lifelong supporter of Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club.
